Fast-Infa Label Awarded to Our Neighborhood Development Project in Oniipa, Northern Namibia

In March 2025, our neighborhood development project in Oniipa, Northern Namibia, was awarded the FAST-Infra Self-Assessed Label for Resilient Land Development.

The assessment examined the project’s risks and benefits on:

  • Environmental and social impact
  • Climate risk adaptation
  • Environmental and social management
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Sustainability and mitigation action
  • International finance corporation performance
  • Financial metrics

In addition, specific environmental, resilience, social and governance criteria were assessed, including:

  • Biodiversity and ecosystem services
  • Climate change mitigation
  • Circular economy and resource efficiency
  • Pollution prevention and control
  • Resilience and climate adaptation
  • Etc.

About the FAST-Infra Label:

The FAST-Infra Label is a credible, consistent, and globally applicable labeling system designed to identify and evaluate sustainable infrastructure projects. It is designed to enable developers and operators to show the positive impact of an infrastructure asset, thus attracting investors seeking assets that positively contribute to sustainable outcomes. The FAST-Infra Label is managed by Global Infrastructure Basel as the label’s secretariat.

The planning for the Resilient Neighborhood Model Namibia pilot project is completed in March 2025. We hope to start implementing the project later this year, together with our project partners, the local government of Oniipa Town, and the local community.
